I know you
Now I know that I know you
From long before you think I know you.
I know you from the futile blood
That spilled from a slit in my wrist,
From the first time I felt that thing
Between my legs,
From the shards of rain in the night sky.
I know you from the lines of my palm
And those that become visible under my eyes
At the slightest smile.
I knew you before everything began-
From the time when we roamed a fruitful garden naked,
Looking for a particular poisonous serpent
Who we knew was the harbinger of eternal sin
And eternal bliss.
