Warning
Bengal has been struck by the annual festive flu virus. Identified by the name of Durga Puja, this virus has wrecked havoc on the social, professional, public and private lives of every resident of Bengal. The virus can enter you through your eyes, ears, mouth or even through touch. The symptoms for infection include lack of concentration on work, unnecessary and meaningless happiness, sudden bouts of laughter, shopoholicness. The sound of dhak, sight of illumination, smell of new clothes and shoes are all prone to infect you with the virus. This virus has had its worst effect on Kolkata - the state’s capital.
It has an incubation period of about 15 days and is at its worse during the five days - shasthi, saptami, ashtami, nabami and dashami. After that, its effect begins to wane. Employers are warned not to push their staff to work or try to make them overwork since such efforts may see devastating consequences like uninformed leaves, etc. In some people the virus induces urges to travel to hill stations and sea resorts while others donate huge amounts of money to shops in exchange for dresses, shoes, bags, cds, bags, books, etc. which they mostly do not need.
The administration has asked the people to enjoy the virus well and has promised to try to keep traffic under control, to facilitate the growth and flourish of this virus.
